...A Blizzard Warning remains in effect for Cerro Gordo, Emmet, Hancock, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Winnebago and Worth counties from 1:00 AM Monday until 10:00 PM Monday...
SYNOPSIS: It was quiet again over Iowa today with High Pressure beginning to move Eastward. Mostly Sunny skies prevailed for the majority of Iowa with a few clouds over Eastern and Southern Iowa. Highs remained below normal once again thanks to a very cold airmass layer over the area, only reaching the mid 30’s to low 40’s in most places. Winds were breezy at times, remaining steady in the 10-20 MPH range.
SHORT TERM: The National Weather Service offices across the state have issued numerous Winter Weather Advisories and a Blizzard Warning for Northeastern through Northwestern Iowa from late tonight into tomorrow evening. Light to moderate snow is forecasted to begin falling tonight and, that, combined with strong 25-30 mph winds, will create blizzard-like conditions for these areas and make travel nearly impossible. More on that here. Farther South will be more pleasant with cloudy skies and a slight chance of rain. High’s across the state will range from the mid 20’s North to Upper 30’s South.
Have a great Monday!
