Temperatures this morning fell below zero as promised with many areas north of Interstate 80 recording that feat. -9° was the coldest reading this morning, that coming in Estherville. Tonight will bring in the heart of the cold air with high pressure settling in, temperatures may drop into the single digits and teens below zero, especially in the snowpack areas north of IA Hwy 92. South of there temperatures may hover a few degrees either side of zero. A big warm up is in store by Thursday with temperatures rebounding into the 30s and 40s, with even warmer readings where there is no snow.
