FAIRLY QUIET: The next few days will be relatively quiet outside of a slight chance of some snow/freezing drizzle or drizzle in the northeastern and eastern counties of the state Thursday with a weak disturbance moving through. Temperatures will vary wildly on Thursday, but as for today, it’ll be another day in the 20s and 30s with mainly sunny skies. Thursday will see readings range from the mid 30s northeast to the lower to middle 50s southwest. Friday will bring another disturbance with some drizzle, light snow as well. This one however will bring colder readings for the upcoming weekend.
EARLY NEXT WEEK: Another storm will move through the state Sunday into Monday bringing with it some rain, snow and possibly a mix of the two. There is some uncertainty with regards to the precipitation type at this time, but it is looking as if the northern counties will get mainly snow or a mix while the southern counties may get some rain during the day with a mix in the morning and toward evening Monday as the storm is departing. It’s too early to determine any sort of amounts at this time. There is little moisture forecast to be with this system so it should be somewhat light dependent on the snow ratios. Another storm develops next Wednesday that could bring some more precipitation (most likely rain) to the state.
STAYING ACTIVE: The weather still looks active past next Wednesday as the storm at mid-week may last through next Friday into early Saturday. Some snow is possible on the backside of the storm, but this may and will likely change in future runs. GFS is continuing to show a few more possible storms as well continuing the active pattern that we’ve been seeing for the last few days.
