LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OVER AN INCH AND A HALF. SLEET AND SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS OF LESS THAN ONE INCH ARE EXPECTED ACROSS MUCH
OF THE AREA. LOCALLY HIGHER SNOW AMOUNTS OF AROUND 2 INCHES
WILL BE POSSIBLE NEAR THE ARKANSAS/MISSOURI BORDER.
DANGEROUS ICE ACCUMULATIONS HAVE ALREADY OCCURRED ACROSS MUCH OF
THIS AREA WITH WIDESPREAD TREE DAMAGE. NORTHERLY WINDS WILL INCREASE
ACROSS THE REGION THIS EVENING CAUSING ADDITIONAL DAMAGE.
THE FREEZING RAIN WILL BECOME INCREASINGLY MIXED WITH SLEET
ACROSS EAST CENTRAL OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS THIS EVENING.
PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN TO TAPER OFF FROM THE NORTHWEST LATER
TONIGHT…BEFORE ENDING ACROSS THE AREA BY WEDNESDAY MORNING.
NUMEROUS POWER OUTAGES HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPORTED ACROSS THE
AREA WITH THOUSANDS ALREADY WITHOUT POWER. ADDITIONAL ICE
ACCUMULATION ON TREES AND UTILITY LINES IS EXPECTED…WHICH WILL
RESULT IN EVEN MORE WIDESPREAD OUTAGES. IN THE HARDEST HIT
