A Blizzard of Advisories and Watches

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued in NW Iowa. This is in effect until tomorrow morning when a Blizzard watch then goes into effect. The Blizzard Watch also is in effect beginning tomorrow morning for areas north of Interstate 80 in the Des Moines CWA and for the Iowa counties in the La Crosse CWA. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect beginning at 6pm Monday and will be in effect until Noon Tuesday for the following counties, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Benton, Linn, Jones, Jackson, Iowa, Johnson, Cedar, Clinton, Muscatine, Scott, Keokuk, Washington and Louisa. Modest snow accumulations will be possible with this storm, but the strong winds will be the main threat which could lead to blizzard conditions Monday into Tuesday with falling temperatures and dangerous wind chills nearing 30 below zero.
