NOTE: Excuse the audio as this is the first video on a new computer after issues with the original one occurred yesterday.

CALM DAY AHEAD: The weather today will be calm compared to what is going on in the New England states with the blizzard Around here some clouds and some sunshine with temperatures in the 30s and 40s across the state melting more of the snow we received a week or two ago.

STORMY SUNDAY: The calm conditions can not be said for what Sunday will bring to the state with a low pressure system coming up from the southwest bringing with it gulf moisture and some rain with perhaps embedded thunderstorms especially across the southern counties of the state. The northern and northwestern counties may see some wintry mix of sleet, freezing rain and snow during the day before changing over to rain. Meanwhile the plains into Minnesota will be sacked with some snow and howling winds with near blizzard conditions there. Any travel into western Nebraska, South Dakota and western and central Minnesota should be avoided if all possible Saturday night through Monday. The cold air will sweep across the state Sunday evening changing the precipitation to a wintry mix or snow but most of the moisture will be east of the state at that time so any ice and or snow accumulations will be light at best before it ends early Monday.

LOVING THE SEASONAL WEATHER: Heading toward Valentine’s Day, the weather will be seasonal with 20s and 30s for highs and lows in the teens and 20s with sunshine and a few clouds. Another clipper system approaches late next week which will reinforce the cold air into the state with a few snow showers but nothing of any significance at this time.
