It’s been awhile since I blogged about the warning list but now that 2008 is behind us, tabulations have been completed on the 2008 Warnings Lists for Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Warnings. In Iowa, Des Moines led in both catagories (509, 130). Here is where NWS offices that include some parts of Iowa finished 2008 on the respective lists.

Des Moines (509) finished 7th
Omaha (457) finished 14th
Sioux Falls (296) finished 30th
Quad Cities (284) finished 35th
La Crosse (168) finished tied for 69th

Tornado Warning List
Des Moines (130) finished 8th
Omaha (64) finished 24th
Sioux Falls (55) finished 36th
Quad Cities (41) finished 43rd
La Crosse (26) finished 59th
