GROUNDHOG DAY AGAIN: The weather over the next few days will feel like the movie Groundhog Day, but don’t think you’re in Bill Murray’s shoes with what is going on and Sonny and Cher won’t be blaring on your radio as you wake up every morning. There was a bit of snow last night across the state and it will happen again tonight and Sunday night and perhaps Tuesday as well. Highs today will range from the teens northeast to lower 30s southwest. Sunday will be a bit warmer especially in the western counties with 30s to near 40 out there with teens and 20s in the eastern counties.
MODERATION PERHAPS: By the middle to end of next week we’ll be able to see some warmer weather move through the entire state. A new storm according to the model will move in from the southwest on Friday into Saturday. This could bring rain, snow or a combination of the two. It’s way too early to determine precipitation type and amount. It may go away on the next run (see report two days ago).
PARTING SHOT FROM PHIL: Seeing a shadow will not make six more weeks of winter, no matter what a certain creature says, but a cold snap is possible by the middle of the month following another storm that could skirt the state with more snow at that time.
