COLD AGAIN: After morning lows this morning in the single digits above and below zero, readings today will only make the teens to near 20 in many areas of the state. Sunshine will be plentiful with a few clouds here and there. A warm front will move through the state again tonight bringing with it a little more snow to mainly the eastern counties of the state. Readings tonight won’t drop off much, and may rise toward sunrise. Friday will see slightly warmer weather but only seasonal for this time of year with 20s to near 30 across the area.

WEEKEND MESS: This weekend could get interesting with a storm moving in that could bring some rain and perhaps a bit of a wintry mix to the state. This will be dependent on the amount of cold air at or near the surface. Sunday would the main day of seeing the precipitation as temperatures will be in the 30s for most of the state. We’ll be able to fine tune this forecast by tomorrow.

NEXT WEEK: The models are still having a difficult time with the storm after the one this weekend. We could again start out with rain or a wintry mix again Tuesday with a quick changeover to snow before ending early Wednesday. One thing is clear, the warm weather will be long gone by Wednesday night as the cold front will have swept through the state and readings will be heading back down into the single digits once again.
