WARM DAYS: Thaw is coming over the state this week before another storm moves in that will bring some light rain and then another with some quick shots of light snow then some arctic cold to head into the following week. First off we’ll have plenty of sunshine today and tomorrow with highs in the 30s and 40s across the area. Winds will be breezy out of the southwest at 10-20mph. Wednesday will be a carbon copy of today and tomorrow as well with increasing clouds Thursday and a chance of light rain at that time (EURO is slower, GFS is faster and about 18-24 hours apart on precip). Some of the precipitation may mix with some sleet or ice pellets at the onset before becoming all rain.

SATURDAY EVENT: The second piece of the storm will move in from the southwest on Saturday bringing with it, some colder air leading to most of the precipitation to be in the form of snow with perhaps some lseet mixed in. Accumulations at this time don’t look to be a whole lot, perhaps an inch or two, but this may change in future model runs. This run continues to show us getting into the dry slot of the storm Saturday night into early Sunday.

COLD DAYS: Then we’re in for a treat with much colder weather, likely seeing highs in the teens if that, and lows at or below zero. This is all dependent on how much snow cover we have left across the state. If the Saturday storm can replenish some of the snow that we’ll be melting over the next few days or whether it won’t and we’ll have bare ground. We’ll have to see.
