UP AND DOWN: After a decent day on Wednesday, temperatures will be cooler today with highs only in the teens and lower 20s, about 5-8 degrees below average for this time of early January. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny becoming more so during the day as clouds will be departing the eastern counties early in the day. Another cold but not unbearable night ahead tonight with lows in the single digits before seeing highs rebound into the 20s to lower 30s for Friday as winds switch to the southwest.
MS CLEO SAY CALL ME NOW FOR YOUR FREE SNOW!: Unfortunately, any snow we may see Saturday isn’t going to be enough to even bother, like Ms Cleo, it will be entertaining to look at but with little substance. It will be similar to the snow that fell yesterday, a few flurries or light snow showers that may dust the ground but not more than that. The chances are remote at best and the southeastern half of the state is more favored to see this activity as well.
I’M KEITH STORM!: Storm at midweek next week is looking to track a bit farther to the south than yesterday run, that would mean less chances of precipitation, but not totally ruling it out. A cold front to the northwest would be bringing another shot of arctic like air to the state regardless. The forecast is very disorganized so changes are very likely for the middle of next week. Farther out, some more snow later into the month and more cold air look likely but this could change as well. The core of the cold yesterday was almost on top of us in two weeks time, today it looks to be about 500-700 miles north of us.
