A Blizzard watch remains in effect beginning Saturday afternoon and will be in effect until Sunday afternoon for the following counties in Iowa, Sioux, OBrien, Clay, Plymouth, Cherokee, Buena Vista, Woodbury, Ida, Osceola, Dickinson and Lyon. This is for the next storm. Other Blizzard watches and or warnings may be issued later today or tonight. A strong cold front will sweep across the state on Saturday bringing some accumulating snow to the northern part of the state. Strong winds of 30-40mph will blow and drift already fallen snow and snow that will be falling. Temperatures will nosedive below zero creating dangerous wind chills of -30° or lower. Snowfall will amount to between 1-4 inches in the watch area. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the falling snow which will occur beginning Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon.
