GETTING COLD: Temperatures are going to feel like winter for sure now across the state. Highs today will be in the 20s but this will feel warm compared to the rest of the week. A few light snow showers or flurries will be moving out during the morning hours but skies will remain mainly cloudy across the state today. A storm will move to our south Christmas into Wednesday with some snow possible across Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas and into the Ohio Valley. Some significant snow is possible for places like Tulsa, Springfield and St Louis MO and Indianapolis. Around here, we’ll have a few clouds, but as mentioned yesterday the temperatures take a tumble, from highs in the 20s today to the teens and perhaps even single digits for highs Christmas Day into Wednesday. Lows will be in the single digits above and below zero for several mornings this week. One good thing, the wind will be fairly light so wind chills won’t be brutal.
NO SNOW EXCITEMENT: Friday’s storm looks even weaker now to the point we may barely mention any chance of snow that day, but there’s still some hope however for anyone that would want to see some fresh snow to add to the hard packed snow we received last week. If any snow does fall, the amounts are expected to remain light however.
LOOKING AHEAD: Temperatures are looking to rebound to near seasonal levels after the New Year, but the pattern looks fairly benign at this time with little run to run trends showing up. We’ll have to wait a while before the next significant storm moves through the state.
