All of Iowa, Winter Weather

Now For Round 2

One storm out of the way that left a wide swath of 2-5 inches across the state, we now take a short intermission before round 2 hits the state Thursday into Friday and this one may be larger! A Winter Storm Watch has already been issued for the next storm. This is mainly in effect in the SE 2/3rds of the state. The difference with this storm with the one that is currently exiting the state is that some freezing rain and sleet may mix in with the snow. It’s too early to determine where the snow/sleet and ice line will set up, but it looks like the best chance for any ice accumulation will be south of US Hwy 20 on Thursday. It will change to all snow by late Thursday night into Friday with several inches of snow possible.
