All of Iowa, Winter Weather

Advisory Update

The Wind Chill advisory has been extended eastward to include portions of east-central and Southeast Iowa effective until Monday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued in SE Iowa for freezing rain and sleet that is currently falling in those areas. It will switch to all snow in a few hours. Temperatures statewide have fallen below freezing now and NW Iowa is already below zero. Temperatures there will dive to -10° tonight and barely get above zero tomorrow. A new storm will move into the state Tuesday. This will need to be monitored as a few inches of snow are possible from this storm. Most if not all of the snow cover on the ground in the SE part of the state is now gone. That might be the saving grace in those areas from really getting cold tonight and Monday night, but the snow cover will be replaced by this upcoming storm.
