RAINY DAY: Rain will begin the day but become less numerous as drier air will move through the state later today. The rain won’t completely go away, just become more scattered and lighter. Most of the rainfall was last night so amounts by later today should be over a half inch to perhaps an inch in some areas. Highs will be in the 40s to lower 50s today.
CALM BEGINNING: Tomorrow will see a few backwash clouds and perhaps a flurry or sprinkle at best with cooler temperatures filtering in. Otherwise the beginning of the new work week will be calm and pleasant with highs in the 30s to lower 40s with sunshine peeking through.
LAST CHANCE: The last chance of seeing a white Christmas across the state looks to come Thursday with a system that is looking more robust on this run than in the previous ones. This would bring a substantial snowstorm to the state. The last few days have shown this storm looking starved for moisture until it was east of the state but this run shows no such trend. If this pans out, we could receive several inches statewide, just in the “nick” of time. We’ll be able to pinpoint this possible snow storm in later IWR’s tomorrow and Monday. It will turn cooler for the holiday with readings likely in the 20s to lower 30s for highs with lows a few degrees either side of 10.
