The Winter Weather Advisory has been expanded and now includes the following counties in Iowa along with the other counties issued last evening, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Fayette and Clayton. The Winter Weather Advisory in central Iowa expires at 6pm this evening, while the advisory in the eastern part of Iowa expires at 6am Monday morning. Amounts of 2-4 inches with higher amounts possible will occur through Monday morning in the eastern part of the state. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued across the Mississippi River in Illinois where 4-8 inches of snow are possible. Anyone travelling today needs to take care and drive slowly. The snow will begin to taper off later tonight.
The highest snowfall total seen so far has been 3 inches near Van Horne in Benton County with scattered 1-2 inch amounts elsewhere.
