SPRITZ OF RAIN: Some rain showers are possible today mainly for the western and southern counties although anyone could get in on the wet weather but the better chances are in those areas. Election Day will see rain in the northern and eastern counties of the state during the morning into the early afternoon hours. Rainfall through Tuesday looks to be around a tenth to quarter inch with isolated heavier totals close to a third or half inch possible. Highs will be in the 40s to near 50 today and in the upper 40s to mid 50s Tuesday.
WEEKEND EVENT: Taking the rain out of Friday and seeing the first half of Saturday dry now as well with a slower movement of the frontal system this weekend. This would put an emphasis on Saturday night into Sunday again for some showers and thunderstorms some of which could be strong. There could be enough cold air behind the system that the precipitation may change over to some snow or a mix but it’s too early to tell that at this time. Highs will be in the 50s and 60s before the front blows through crashing readings back into the 40s perhaps 30s for highs early next week.
MORE PRECIP LATER: Another storm, not as strong as the one coming this weekend makes a visit in the middle of next week. The type of precip is a bit of a question, but some snow is possible with that system if the cold air following this weekend’s system sticks around.
