PRECIP THIS WEEK: There will be numerous chances of showers and thunderstorms across the state this week, beginning today with a disturbance that will kick off some activity across the state. It will be warm with highs in the 60s and 70s. Tuesday will see a break from the precipitation with sunshine and highs well into the 70s perhaps approaching 80. Wednesday and Thursday the rain and thunderstorms return with highs in the 60s and 70s on Wednesday and 60s on Thursday.
COOLING DOWN: Temperatures won’t stay warm after the frontal passage on Thursday afternoon and evening. The weekend upcoming will be much cooler with readings in the 40s and 50s for highs and lows around 30. It will be dry with only a few passing clouds.
ELECTION DAY PREVIEW: The last day of the model run brings us to Election Day 2012 and right now the model shows some very warm weather and perhaps some scattered showers about with readings around 60 for highs. No reason to stay away from the polls, but this will undoubtedly change over the next week to ten days.
