SATURDAY STORM: The next few days will be relatively quiet with temperatures mainly in the 50s and 60s for highs and lows in the 30s and 40s. With regards to Saturday, the storm does look a bit weaker on the latest GFS Model Run and also on the NAM. There would still be some shower and thunderstorm activity, but the severe weather threat may not be as great as once predicted over the last few days. Any severe weather if this run pans out would be to our south over Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma, and in part if the storms develop there, they could rob the state of moisture thus keeping rainfall amounts down as well on already dry ground. We’ll wait before pinpointing any farther on this event as things could change again. Sunday will see some early day rain in the eastern counties with clearing west to east and temperatures remaining in the 60s for highs into next week.

COLD PLUNGE: The 60s won’t last long however as a cold front will move into the state by the middle of next week. This will bring some showers and perhaps a thunderstorm on Wednesday along with cooler weather for the end of next week. It will remain cool through at least the end of the month, but not bitter cold, but we’ll be watching nonetheless.
