COLD DAYS: It’s going to be a cold weekend around the state with mainly sunny skies abounding. There could be an isolated flurry or sprinkle in the far northern counties during the morning into early afternoon hours but it won’t amount to much. Readings today will hold in the 40s to lower 50s with Sunday seeing 50s statewide for highs. Lows will be in the 20s to lower 30s bringing hard freezes to the entire state.
NEARING NORMAL: Temperatures will rebound into the coming week with highs back into the 60s Monday and Tuesday but another cold front will move through dry late Tuesday dropping temperatures back into the 50s Wednesday before rising once more through the end of the week. The next chance of rain comes next weekend with another storm system coming from the southwest. We’ll have to watch this in future runs.
FARTHER OUT: The GFS is showing some warmer air coming into the state at mid-month followed by a big cold snap at the end of the period (see video). As said before, we’ve seen about everything on the model runs of late and things are likely to change.
