DRYNESS ABOUNDS: It’s going to be a very dry week across most of the state. The exception will be the far southern counties that may get grazed by a disturbance today and again later this week which could bring a few showers as far north as US 34 corridor. Any rainfall from these will be very light and less than a tenth or two. Temperatures will remain warm today before cooling back down into the 60s to lower 70s Wednesday through the rest of the week.
INTO OCTOBER: The GFS is showing the next best chance of precipitation returning to the state in about ten days time. That’s right TEN DAYS from now! Even that chance doesn’t look all that promising. What a few days ago looked like an active pattern setting up for the region in the month of October is starting to look more of the same we’ve been seeing the last few months. Dry weather and fairly seasonal readings. One bright spot is that there doesn’t look to be any more frosty mornings ahead for a while, although the growing season has ended for a large portion of the state (thus a few NWS offices have suspended issuing frost and freeze advisories and warnings for the year). We’ll continue to watch for that in future days and weeks.
