CLIPPING AWAY: Rain will move in and out of the state today but rainfall looks to be a quarter inch or less across the state as most of the moisture will be with the system moving across the Gulf Coast early this week. The cold air behind this system is still on track however, but even that doesn’t look to be as serious as once was. The last few NAM models showed possible morning lows Tuesday morning in the 28-34° range across the state (outside urban areas). The latest 00z NAM run is showing readings in the 30-42° range as there could be more clouds hanging on in the eastern third to half of the state for the first part of the night keeping temperatures up longer than out west. There could still be some frost, but it looks a lot smaller than once was thought.

REBOUND: Temperatures will make a quick recovery back to near seasonal levels before another quick shot of cold air Friday into Saturday. This may bring some precipitation, but right now it doesn’t look too likely at this time. This cold shot will be short lived as well with readings back close to average on Sunday.

QUIET END: The rest of the month looks quiet and more seasonal as the storm track looks to move back to the north once more. There may be some precipitation but it’s not looking too good at this time.
