PLEASANT WEEKEND: Today and into this weekend should see no issues with weather across the state. Readings will be cool in the morning with quickly warming temperatures into the 70s and lower 80s by the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. There will be no issues with HS Football tonight, College Football Saturday and the NCWTS race at Iowa Speedway Saturday night.
COLD PUSH #1: The next shot of cold air comes through Monday into early Tuesday with a cold front coming down from the north and northwest. This will bring some showers and perhaps a clap of thunder or two across the state. Rainfall looks to be light at this time with many areas receiving a quarter inch or less (given the over estimating of the last systems rainfall by HPC) This will be followed by much cooler air Tuesday with readings in the 50s and 60s for HIGHS! Depending on sky and wind conditions we could see some lows down into the 30s Wednesday morning before a quick rise back to near or over 70 by the afternoon hours.
COLD PUSH #2: The next push looks to come around the base of the trough by the end of the week with some more shower chances at that time and a cooler weekend the following days thereafter. The weather looks to moderate somewhat toward the end of the month but we could see more pushes of cold air in future runs of the GFS.
