RAIN AND COOL: Rain showers will be coming back into the forecast today through at least Thursday night and early Friday morning across the state. The shower activity will be keeping temperatures way down into the lower and middle 60s both today and tomorrow where the rain will be falling the most. The northwestern counties may see some late day clearing on Thursday that will boost their readings at least into the 70s but at least this is a far cry from the 90s they have been seeing of late with the dry air around. Rainfall looks to be modest at this time with a half inch to one inch being likely across the state with some isolated heavier totals.

GREAT WEEKEND: Another weekend of great weather is in store as well with no weather issues abounding. There could be some crisp mornings but quickly warming up with bountiful sunshine during the day. There will be no problems with tailgating both Friday night at HS Football games or Saturday for college games.

BIGGER PUSH: A larger and more definite push of colder air looks to make an appearance in the early to middle part of next week. This could bring some frosty like temperatures to the state that we haven’t seen in several months. The GFS is also showing several more systems like this through the end of the month but this one looks to be the fiercest of the bunch. We could see temperatures being held down into the 50s for highs depending on cloudiness and lows possibly down into the 30s. We’ll continue to watch the model runs to see any changes that might come about with next week’s possible cool down.

NOTE: IWR’s are now back after taking a small hiatus due to the main blogger being on vacation. There should be no changes forthcoming with the IWR’s at this time.
