VERY HOT: Another scorcher outside today across the state with temperatures in the 90s and possibly a few triple digits readings as well. Humidity levels will be low in the western and northern counties of the state so Red Flag Warnings have been hoisted in those areas for the danger of fires there. It will be not only hot but breezy as well with winds of 10-20mph gusting to 25mph at times as well.
THEN THERE’S ISAAC: Still on track to bring the southeastern half of the state with some rainfall beginning late Friday night and lasting through most of the day Saturday. The heaviest rain will remain east and south of the state but some parts of far SE Iowa, Keokuk, Fort Madison and Burlington could receive an inch of rain from this with lighter amounts to the north and west. This looks to be the best chance of rain with the system in the next week or so.
SEPTEMBER: Farther into the ninth month of the year, the weather pattern looks to be a bit more active with temperatures remaining close to seasonal levels throughout. More on that in coming videos.
