RAINFALL THIS WEEK: Still looking good for getting some much needed rainfall across the state this week mainly Thursday into the weekend. This will be dependent on what becomes of the tropical wave in the central Atlantic that could make a run on the east coast in several days. This could slow systems down and could either push the rain back a day or keep the rain around longer, which right now looks to be the ticket at least at this time. Rainfall amounts could be substantial with a half to one inch possible with the heaviest totals right now looking to be west of Interstate 35.

LABOR DAY HEAT: The heat could make a return appearance as mentioned yesterday with a ridge coming back over us during the holiday weekend. This will be nothing like the heat in June and July however, but we could still see readings possibly into the 90s once more. We’ll see how this plays out as the ridge looks to break down slightly a few days later but still with no real cool down after that.
