WONDERFUL WEEKEND: No changes in store this weekend, mostly sunny skies and pleasant September like temperatures. There is a fly in the ointment and it could be a small chance of a spinkle or light shower the next few days. This is with a disturbance that is rotating around an upper level low centered at James Bay. There will be more clouds around, but readings will still get into the 70s for highs. Could see some lows close to record territory, with slowly warming readings through the rest of the week.

RAIN BY THURSDAY: The next chance of rain moves back to the state Thursday with a frontal system from the west. The gulf of Mexico looks to open up and this could bring some decent rains around here at the end of the week. The GFS wants to slow the front down into next weekend with continued chances of showers and thunderstorms, but we’re going to hold off on that for the time being.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND: Who would have thought that Labor Day Weekend is only two weeks away, known as the last weekend of Summer, it’s going to feel seasonal at least looking at the GFS right now. There could be some scattered showers and storms around but that’s likely to change and we’ll pinpoint this forecast as we get closer.

NOTE: Iowa Forecast Videos will be DISCONTINUED AND REPLACED with a new exciting Video Series on Monday.
