RAINY DAYS: We have a few rainy days in the next week across the state intermixed with some dry sunny days and warmer temperatures early and middle of next week. Today, a disturbance will be moving through bringing with it some showers and isolated thunderstorms to the region. We’ve seen some already during the overnight hours. Amounts will generally be a few tenths at best. The new work week begins with sunny skies and slowly warming temperatures each day, heading well into the 80s and perhaps a few 90s in the western half of the state by Wednesday. Wednesday night into Thursday sees the next chance of showers and thunderstorms return to the state. This storm as mentioned in yesterday’s discussion looks to be larger and a bit stronger than the current one, so some heavier rain totals of a half inch or more are certainly possible.

THE LAST WEEKEND: Next weekend will be the last weekend for most of the kids in the state before they start school the following week. After the storm moves through Thursday, temperatures drop back below seasonal averages with highs back into the 70s to lower 80s with lower humidities as well. We could see some cool mornings on Saturday and Sunday morning next weekend similar to yesterday morning. We’ll have to wait.
