MORE HEAT: A few more days of heat before relief arrives this weekend with cooler air and a chance of some showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures today and even Saturday will be in the 90s with the cold front moving through Saturday afternoon into the evening. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible with this system, although again as always some places will get rain while other don’t get much more than a drop.

COOL DAYS: Sunday and Monday will be the cooler days in the next week before a slow warm up toward the following weekend. Conditions look to remain dry for most of the week outside the possible shower or storm. The Iowa State Fair may open with some warm readings this coming Thursday and into the first weekend as well. It’s looking as of now the second weekend could be cooler but this could change.
