The Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 1am Thursday morning for the following counties, Audubon, Bremer, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Cerro Gordo, Crawford, Emmet, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Humboldt, Kossuth, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Sac, Webster, Winnebago, Worth, Wright, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Ida, O’Brien, Woodbury, Allamakee, Chickasaw, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, Winneshiek, Vernon WI, Fillmore MN, Houston MN, Mower MN, Jackson MN, Faribault MN, Freeborn MN and Martin MN. Thunderstorms have begun to fire across this area along and just behind the cold front. These storms will be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds as they move through. They will move out of the watch area during the overnight hours.

UPDATE: Adair, Boone, Cass, Dallas, Guthrie, Madison counties have been added to the severe thunderstorm watch until 1am as of 7:30pm
