HEAT BUILDING: It’s becoming a broken record of continuously repeating the same forecast over and over again. If it was for rain, it would be a welcome forecast, but unfortunately it’s for more heat and humidity through at least mid-week next week if not longer. Temperatures will run back up into the 90s and triple digits this weekend and into next week with only slight chances of rain possible Wednesday and Thursday, (possibly Monday also but very isolated at this point). Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings could be issued during this time with heat indices well over 100 on most afternoons and not dropping below 80 most nights in some areas. Take all heat precautions for the next week. Any rain that happens to fall will be light to moderate and very spotty.

DROUGHT: Moderate to Severe Drought continues across the state with the new drought monitor out yesterday morning. There is extreme drought in southern Wisconsin that if no appreciable rain falls in the next week could ease into the eastern counties of the state next week when the new monitor comes out. If this is the case, it would be the first Extreme Drought since 2006.
