HEAT AND MORE HEAT: More of the warm weather will continue for at least another week with temperatures well into the 90s and perhaps a few more triple digit readings as well. Muscatine yesterday hit 106, while several other locations in southern Iowa also made it above 100. The northern counties were spared some of that heat with some showers and thunderstorms. Some areas got a lot of rain, but many areas got nothing but sunshine and heat. Sunshine and heat will be the main story the rest of this week, into the weekend and into next week with a chance of some rain possibly next week with another front similar to yesterday.

ANY RAIN?: The only real decent shot at rain looks to be Tuesday and Wednesday with some shower activity coming in with a front from the north. Like yesterday, this front will dissipate and the warmth will continue the rest of next week as well. Rainfall could be spotty like yesterday and could be locally heavy and we mean LOCALLY! No real changes at least according to the GFS look to happen at least through the first few days of August.
