ISOLATED RAIN: The chances of rain today and tomorrow are going to be at best isolated and many people may not even get a drop of rain either day. Temperatures will cool in the northern counties today and tomorrow before the heat returns in those areas. The southern counties won’t really lose the heat and humidity. A heat advisory is in effect today for areas south of Interstate 80 and along the Missouri and Big Sioux Rivers.

HOT TIME ON RAGBRAI: The GFS is showing a possible encore storm similar to the current setup Monday into Tuesday of next week, with a front coming south out of Minnesota bringing with it some isolated chances of showers and storms. Up until that point, it’ll be a hot scorcher with highs well into the 90s to near 100. Heat indices will easily top 100 in most of NW Iowa Sunday into Monday. It’s starting to look like most of the RAGBRAI week will be very warm with only the one chance of rain Monday and Tuesday and perhaps one toward the weekend, but it’s too early yet on that.
