HEAT BUILDING: It will be several days of hot weather across the state and region and this will be the case at least through the weekend with heat advisories for most of the state until Saturday at the earliest. Temperatures will climb well into the 90s with heat indices exceeding 100 each afternoon and dropping only to about 80 at night. No rain is forecast in the state until perhaps late Friday night where a stray shower or storm could move into the northwestern counties at that time.
RAIN CHANCES: This coming weekend may bring the next best chance of rain to the area, although slight at best, a cold front will move into the state suppressing the heat and bringing needed rainfall to the area. Temperatures will drop back into the 80s into early next week before the GFS shows the heat ridge building back once more as we head further into the month of July.
