HEAT WAVE: The heat is returning to the state in time for the Independence Day Holiday on Wednesday. It will also be dry across the state this week as well with the slightest of chances of a shower Wednesday in the far northeastern counties. Outside of that readings will climb well into the 90s, perhaps even touching or exceeding 100. Heat Indices will be nearing or exceeding 100-110, thus heat advisories or excessive heat warnings could become necessary across the state this week at some time. Make sure to take all necessary precautions when dealing with the heat this week.

NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN: Right now it’s very hard to determine when the next chance of rain is right now, the GFS has been bullish on rain the last few days and weeks and again it shows some chances Thursday into this upcoming weekend. Right now we’ll leave it dry for now, but we could see some nocturnal activity Friday night into Saturday with a cold front that will move into the state cutting the heat off for the time being, although readings will still be in the 80s to middle 90s across the state into early next week.
