CHANCE OF RAIN: There’s likely going to be some rain across the state today but there’s several factors that could limit it and or not have it occur at all. Most of the models show some rain moving through the state today with most of it moving out by the early evening hours. This will be good news for the Iowa Corn Indy 250 (which I said wrong twice on video) at Iowa Speedway tonight. Rainfall looks to be modest at best with a half an inch commonplace with heavier amounts in thunderstorms. Some areas however could get much less if anything at all. The rest of the weekend and next week look dry as well.
JULY 4TH: The Independence Day Holiday still looks to have some chances of rain but as said yesterday in the discussion, those risks seem to be waning with every day of model runs. Temperatures look to remain seasonal during the holiday period, with no real heat waves at this time although the Plains look to bake under a heat ridge prior to the holiday.
