DRY AND SEASONAL: With the frontal passage last evening cooler and much less humid weather will be in the cards for the state over the next couple of days. Outside a rain chance late Saturday into Sunday, the next seven days will be mainly dry once more across the state. Rainfall from this weekend doesn’t look to amount to much, with most areas across the state getting less than a quarter to third of an inch. So watering the grass is likely going to continue for the next couple of days.

HEAT RIDGE: A heat ridge will be building across the Plains states toward the weekend and the beginning of next week which will keep the state in a northwesterly flow aloft and keep readings seasonally in the 80s. After the weekend system, the next chance of rain looks to hold off until next Thursday as the ridge begins to break down across the plains at that time.

JULY 4TH: GFS continues to show the chance of some shower and thunderstorm activity across the area. It’s still too early to determine any chances and any place that rain may occur, but will continue to monitor for continuing trends regarding the holiday.
