All of Iowa

The Growing Season has ended

The first hard freeze occurred last night in many sections of the state. (A post about the frost and freeze advisories of last night got lost and wasn’t published onto the blog). Temperatures fell as low as 24° near Sibley in NW Iowa. As of the now the growing season has ended mainly in areas north of Interstate 80 and west of Interstate 35, and the extreme NE part of the state. The rest of the state may have their growing season ended later this week when another push of cold air could bring a killing freeze to the rest of the state.
