SEVERE WEATHER AGAIN?: There is a slight risk of severe weather today and again on Monday across the state. The main threats on both days look to be from large hail and damaging winds. Although there was a risk area yesterday, nothing really took hold due to several factors not coming together. Many of the severe weather parameters were bullish on severe weather for Saturday and very pessimistic about storms today and Monday. This still rings true today as well. Most of the severe weather parameters aren’t screaming severe weather across the state, but we’ll keep an eye out nevertheless. The main activity will move into the state by late afternoon in the western counties and overnight across the rest of the state. Most of the storms will drop below severe weather limits by Midnight or thereafter. Another round will fire in the eastern counties Monday afternoon and will quickly move into Illinois and Wisconsin by the evening hours taking with it the hot humid weather. Readings today will be in the 90s with heat indices approaching or exceeding 100°

COOL DOWN: The rest of the coming week will see pleasant weather with highs in the 60s and 70s and lows in the 50s with a few upper 40s possible. Temperatures will slowly rise toward the first weekend in June back to the lower 80s by next Sunday. There will be another chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday with a disturbance moving across the state at that time.
