The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory effective through early this evening for the following counties, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, Shelby, Burt NE, Douglas NE, Otoe NE, Sarpy NE, Washington NE, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Ida, Faribault MN, Freeborn MN, Martin MN, Adair, Adams, Audubon, Black Hawk, Boone, Bremer, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Cerro Gordo, Crawford, Dallas, Emmet, Franklin, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hancock, Hardin, Humboldt, Kossuth, Madison, Palo Alto, Pocahontas, Polk, Ringgold, Sac, Story, Taylor, Union, Webster, Winnebago, Worth, Wright, Chickasaw, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, Fillmore MN, Mower MN, Atchison MO, Nodaway MO and Worth MO.

Strong winds ahead of a cold front will occur during the afternoon hours today across the area. Winds may gust over 40mph at times leading to some difficulty especially with high profile vehicles travelling on east-west roads. With some areas not having received a lot of rain over the last few days and weeks, some dust may also occur which may lead to some slightly reduced visibilities.
