MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND: A slight chance of a shower late Friday into Saturday will be the only wrinkle in the weekend ahead across the state. Temperatures will soar on Friday ahead of the front well into the 70s with a few lower 80s possible as well. Seasonal readings will follow the frontal passage with pleasant weather forecast for Mother’s Day on Sunday. Rainfall with this system will be light with at most a tenth of an inch being the heaviest amounts coming out of the storm system.

NEXT WEEK: Temperatures look to remain close to seasonal averages with readings in the lower and middle 70s, with mainly dry conditions. Most of the rain will remain to the south and southeast with a slow moving low pressure system that will take its time moving out. This will leave us on the dry side with several more days of dry weather before another possible system comes in toward the weekend once again.

FARTHER INTO MAY: The GFS is showing a possible warm spell right before Memorial day but it doesn’t look overly hot at this time. There are also several storm systems including one of a tropical nature running up the east coast (which was also seen on the video yesterday). We’ll continue to monitor any further trends for possible storm systems and or heat waves.
