DRY AND QUIET: We may be able to put quite a string of dry and quiet days together over the state with little chance of rain over the next week. The only hiccup could come late Friday night into Saturday with an approaching cold front that will move into the state at that time. Rainfall with that system looks quite light with many locations getting a tenth of an inch or less. Most may not get anything as the chance of rain will be 20% or less. Temperatures are expected to remain seasonal throughout with 60s and 70s for highs, the warmest coming on Friday ahead of the front.

MORE RAIN AHEAD: The GFS is beginning to show a more wet pattern heading into the latter half of May which could be good for those that weren’t impacted by the heavy rainfalls of last week and still need some rain. Several systems are projected to move through the state with ample chances of showers and thunderstorms. Right now, none of them look to contain any possibility of severe weather, but that could change from run to run. A better look at that will come in later runs. Temperatures look to remain close to seasonal levels for mid-May throughout, with no big heat waves or cold snaps in the future.
