STORMY WEEKEND: The severe weather train continues to roll down the tracks today and into the weekend. A slight risk of severe weather continues over the state today and tomorrow and possibly even into Sunday as well. The main threats will be from large hail and damaging winds today, although an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out in the northwestern counties this afternoon and evening. On Saturday the threat continues over the state with all modes of severe weather possible.

CALMING DOWN: The weather does take a break after the storms move off Sunday night with some quieter weather for the beginning of next week. There still will be a threat of some rain showers but nothing of the magnitude that will take place through Sunday. Temperatures will also drop off as well, back into the 60s for highs and lows in the 40s after highs in the 70s and 80s this week. The cooler weather will modify toward the end of next week with an approaching system out of the west that could bring some more rainfall by a week from today.
