The Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch effective until 5am for Des Moines, Henry, Jefferson, Lee, Van Buren, Atchison MO, Nodaway MO, Worth MO, Harrison MO, Mercer MO, Putnam MO, Schuyler MO, Scotland MO and Clark MO. Storms have continued to develop over the last few hours in these areas and will likely move through the area during the morning hours. These storms may bring some large hail and damaging winds with them along with the threat of heavy rain due to many of the storms training over the same areas over and over.
