The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a Flash Flood Watch effective until 9am Friday morning for the following counties, Adams, Appanoose, Clarke, Davis, Decatur, Lucas, Mahaska, Marion, Monroe, Ringgold, Taylor, Union, Wapello and Wayne. Showers and thunderstorms have developed in the area and are expected to train over the area through the morning hours. This may lead to some rapid rises in creeks and streams. Most of the activity should move out of the watch area my mid-morning.
