NOON UPDATE: Moderate Risk for Western Iowa; Primary Threat is Damaging Winds

It seems like night after night there is a Severe Weather threat. Well, it doesn’t seem, it is night after night. Earlier today we told you that there was a Moderate Risk for Western Iowa, and that stands as of the 11:30 SPC update. This area will the center of where storms will develop later tonight.

Within this area, large hail, damaging winds, heavy rains, and isolated tornado are all possible. The primary threat, however, will be damaging winds and large hail. Last night we saw roughly 20-30 damaging winds reports. Tonight may be much different with 40-50 reports possible. As usual with these storms, they may last far into the evening hours.
