TOMORROW WXUPDATE: Northern Portion most at Risk

After a round of thunderstorms tonight, Iowa is in for another dose of severe weather tomorrow. However, uncertainty lies with this storm system as we are not sure of how long the night before storms will last. The longer they last, the less this storm will be. However, we do know that Dew Points in the 60’s will lurk South of the Warm Front centered to the North. We expect a couple storms to still be going in the morning which will help create a boundary of where storms will be located and where destabilization will occur. Elsewhere, along with the warm sector, the atmosphere will begin to destabilize with convective development to start in the late afternoon. The most strongest area of storms will be in the northern portion of the state where shear and deep layer winds will promote organized storms & supercells. However, a few of the storms may become a MCS (mesoscale convective system) (a larger scaled thunderstorm) All modes of severe weather will be possible with these storms. Heavy Rains will be a big issue with a lot of moisture in the ground from the night before.

Stay tuned for the latest information as it arrives. We are currently planning a live chat for this storm as well but an exact time has not been set.
