ROLLER COASTER OF TEMPS: Not taking anything away from the Ohio Players with their hit Love Roller Coaster from 1975, but the temperatures across the state over the next few days will be like a roller coaster, an especially steep one for those who saw sunshine yesterday in southeastern Iowa where readings got into the 70s, unlike northern Iowa, where some locales saw daytime readings hovering around 40. Readings today will be in the 50s and lower 60s behind the system that brought the wide ranging temperatures and the rainfall. Readings won’t stay down long with a rise well into the 60s and possibly 70s once more by early next week. There could be some chance of a shower on Saturday afternoon through Saturday night with a disturbance moving up and around the ridge of high pressure situated over the Inter-Mountain west.

NO BIG CHANGES: The model continues to show some storms in the two week period, but there continues to be no real pinpointing down of the storms coming through the area as yet, given the wide range from run to run. As of now temperatures look to be at or above average through the end of April into May with some cold air masses that may drop highs back as low as the upper 50s or so.
