LIFE THREATENING SITUATION: High Risk for Western Iowa

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma has updated the Day 2 map to include portions of western Iowa. There is an increasing threat of strong, violent tornadoes possible tomorrow. A warm level jet will lurk around Iowa tomorrow with the increasing threat of severe thunderstorms around the area. This will force morning rain and storms over the area which will the atmosphere destabilize quickly. With the warm front remaining in place and relative humidity points in the 60’s, this will create a very bad situation. This in combination with low level winds can cause, again, strong and very violent tornadoes if formed. Cells will begin forming in Eastern Nebraska and eventually make there way into Iowa. Very large hail up to 3″ or 4″ in diameter are also appearing more and more likely as the evening goes on.

Stay tuned as we continue to track this deadly situation that will be unfolding tomorrow.
